Spend a day in the life of ‘The Lucky Few’ family, telling their story through an engaging, upbeat film.

RESPONSE

As a theme for 2019, River Island explored the idea of ‘Modern Family’ through their brand content, looking at the many different versions of family that now exist. For their May edit, they heroed The Lucky Few family. The film content was to focus on telling the family’s story by showing a day in their life, exploring their town and showing us around.

We wanted this to be an honest portrait about an incredible family and their inspiring, unique story. It’s a film about love, unity and above all, acceptance. The children were bursting with personality, so naturally we wanted them to be the stars of the show – and we wanted the camera to appear almost as if it was a part of the family. The narrative was guided by voice over from mum and dad, focusing on their story, their incredible bond and their children’s unique characters.
